What is Canvas?
Canvas is an online learning management system (LMS) used by universities and organizations worldwide. FNCB uses Canvas specifically for delivering your proctored certification examination because it integrates seamlessly with Respondus LockDown Browser. Think of it this way:
- LearnDash (where you are now) = Your preparation course and study materials
- Canvas = Where you will take your actual certification examination

Step 1: Find Your Invitation Email
- Open your email inbox (use the email address you provided when registering for your FNCB exam)
- Look for an email with a subject line similar to “Course Invitation” or “You’ve been invited to a Canvas course”
- The sender will be from Canvas or Instructure (the company that makes Canvas)
- If you cannot find the email, check your spam/junk folder and search for “Canvas,” “Instructure,” or “FNCB”
Step 2: Click the Invitation Link
- Open the invitation email and look for a button or link that says “Get Started,” “Accept Invitation,” or similar
- Click that button or link

Note: The invitation link expires after a certain period. If you click the link and it says it’s expired, contact FNCB at [email protected] to request a new invitation.

Troubleshooting Canvas Access Issues
| Problem | Solution |
|---|---|
| I never received an invitation email | Check spam/junk folders. Search for “Canvas” or “Instructure.” If still not found, email [email protected] with your name and the email address you used to register. |
| The invitation link expired | Email [email protected] and request a new invitation. Include your full name and email address. |
| I can’t remember my password | Go to fncb.instructure.com, click “Forgot Password?” and follow the prompts. Check spam for the reset email. |
| I logged in but don’t see the FNCB course | Click “Courses” in the left menu, then “All Courses.” If the course isn’t listed, email [email protected]—you may not have been added yet. |
| The page won’t load or shows an error | Try a different web browser. Clear your browser’s cache and cookies. Check your internet connection. Try again in a few hours—the site may be temporarily down. |
| I have multiple Canvas accounts | Make sure you’re logging in with the email address you used to register for your FNCB exam. If you have accounts at multiple institutions, they are separate—use the one linked to your FNCB invitation. |
